Experienced Software Engineer

We need an experienced software engineer to help develop the website. This is a generalist position, so frontend and backend development will be in your purview. We primarily work with Ruby on Rails + AWS.

This engineer will work closely with the co-founders of the company.

We value as close to bug-free code as possible. We employ no backup in the form of SDETs or QAEs at this time though, so being able to, and actually testing your own code is necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related subject
  • 5+ years of full-stack experience
  • Customer focus, including the desire to speak with customers
  • Industry-wide expected skills of an experienced engineer:
    • The ability to write understandable, maintainable, and secure code
    • Debugging skills
    • English prose and technical writing skills
    • The ability to review others' code and give constructive feedback
    • The ability to take constructive feedback on your code
    • The ability to research various products' ability to solve a problem
    • The ability to architect software
    • The ability to work through ambiguity toward a goal

Preferred experience with:

  • Ruby
  • Ruby on Rails
  • AWS

Legal Support Specialist

We need legal support specialists to help finalize and file customer Answers so they can take the next step in winning their case. We do not represent our customers, but we help them win pro se. Duties include:

  • Determining which court the customer's case is in
  • Determining filing fees for the customer's Answer
  • Using an online payments platform to process some customer payments such as filing fees
  • Updating court information in a database
  • Bridging customers with attorneys to update customer Answers
  • Using an online task management tool
  • Mailing lawsuit Answers to courts and plaintiff attorneys
  • Working with others

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • A university degree in any subject

Preferred, but not required qualifications:

  • Experience with legal matters in a professional environment
  • Paralegal training

This is a full-time position.


Customer Service Representative

We need customer service representatives that know how to give customers fabulous experiences. Think Amazon-level, best in class performance. Duties include:

  • Corresponding with customers over email. Subject matter includes:
    • Giving order updates, pulling said updates from an online task manager that other people are working
    • Answering legal questions if knowledgeable, otherwise delegating those answers to other people in-house
  • Taking inbound calls from customers over the phone. This would not be immediate, but is an option down the road. The calls may all be scheduled by customers.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • A university degree in any subject
  • Previous experience in this role at another company

Preferred, but not required qualifications:

  • Experience with legal matters in a professional environment
