Yes, we can walk you through it. Most of the work is uploading your court papers. We read them and fill in your lawsuit details, then prepare your Answer for you.
Before you start
Have your Summons and Complaint (the court papers you were served) nearby. Photos taken with your phone are fine.
Step by step
- Start your response. Go to solosuit.com/resolutions?type=debtanswer. If you already have an account, sign in and tap Respond to my lawsuit on your dashboard, or open the menu on a debt and choose Add lawsuit.
- Verify your identity. New customers create an account by entering their mobile number and the code we text them.
- Choose the debt you're being sued for. If we found debts on your credit report, pick the one the lawsuit is about. If you don't see it, choose My debt is not shown.
- Upload your Summons and Complaint. Add PDFs or photos of every page (up to 20 files). We read them and fill in your lawsuit details, which usually takes about a minute. If you don't have your papers handy, choose Enter details manually.
- Confirm your lawsuit details. Check your state, court, the law firm suing you, the company suing you (the plaintiff), and the amount. Each question has a tip that shows where to find the answer on your papers.
- Choose your plan. Premium ($247) includes a licensed attorney's review before your Answer is filed. Standard ($67) doesn't include attorney review. Any court filing fee is shown before you pay.
- Pay. We prepare your Answer, file it with your court, and mail a copy to the attorney suing you. You can track its progress from your dashboard.
Can I check what my Answer says?
Yes. Before you pay, you may see Review or edit your response. Tap it to see and change what your Answer will say, including your responses to each statement in the Complaint.
