Summary: Sick of dodging calls from MSCB, Inc. and other collectors? There’s a better way. If you can’t pay the full amount you owe — or even if you just don’t want to — it might be worth settling your debt. SoloSuit shows you how.
Having an unfamiliar debt collector’s name show up on your credit report can be enough to send a jolt of panic through you. It also can be a difficult problem to resolve. How can you pay a debt if you can’t even find the company you supposedly owe it to?
If you’re trying to figure out what MSCB, Inc. is — and how you can resolve debt with them — you’ve come to the right place.
You can negotiate debt settlement at any stage of the collections process. SoloSettle makes it easy.
Settle with SoloSettleMSCB, Inc. is a debt collection agency located in Paris, TN that focuses solely on the collection of medical bills. It was founded in 1977. The initials in its name stand for “Mid-South Credit Bureau.”
Are you ready to contact MSCB, Inc. to negotiate debt settlement? Use the company's contact information below:
Keep in mind that, like many other debt collectors, this one may call you from another phone number.
If you’ve already received a Summons and Complaint saying MSCB, Inc. is suing you, you still may be able to settle. However, you need to act quickly to avoid a default judgment. Each state gives you a certain amount of time to respond to a lawsuit. If you respond in time, the lawsuit will continue through the court toward trial, giving you time to send a settlement offer.
However, if you do not respond in time, the collector will win by default. This is something you absolutely want to avoid! Winning the lawsuit means they get a court judgment, and that means they can garnish your wages or use other extreme measures to collect the debt.
You can still negotiate a settlement after the collector obtains a default judgment against you, but it becomes much more difficult for you to negotiate and the debt collector will continue to garnish wages or use other collection measures until you reach a settlement or they collect the full amount owed.
Here are the best practices to settle debt with MSCB, Inc. before your court date:
To learn more about these tips and others that will help you on your journey to settle debt with MSCB, Inc., watch the following interview with a consumer rights attorney, John Skiba, where he breaks down the best tips for negotiating debt settlement with collectors:
If you get a phone call or letter saying you owe this collector money, you always have the option of paying immediately — there’s an MSCB, Inc. online payment portal for easy payments.
However, at SoloSuit, we always recommend making a collector validate a debt before you pay it. When a collector “validates” a debt, this means that they prove to you that:
Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), you have a right to ask a collector to validate a debt. If the collector cannot do so, you don’t have to pay it. However, it’s important to understand that the same can’t be said for debt from an original creditor — only debt collection agencies are required to validate debts when asked.
Ask MSCB Inc. to validate your debt.
If you don’t hear back after sending a Debt Validation Letter, you’re in the clear until they do send validation. If they continue collection efforts without validating, they may have violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. However, if the collector validates it, you should offer to settle as soon as possible or be prepared to prove in court that the validation does not prove that you owe the debt. If you don’t settle or pay, you may find yourself facing a lawsuit. To understand how this works, let’s consider an example.
Example: Lucia gets a letter from MSCB, Inc. saying she owes $1,500. She uses SoloSuit to send a Debt Validation Letter, and MSCB, Inc. validates her debt. She then uses SoloSettle to offer to settle her debt. She follows SoloSuit’s suggestion of offering to pay 60% or less of the debt to settle at first. After some back-and-forth, she and MSCB, Inc. agree on a payment of $1,000. Lucia pays, and her debt is settled.
